Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Bankruptcy Report To Lenders

It is exactly 10 years after my Chapter 7 discharge date. I would like to buy a home, but I am wondering if I am required to tell lenders about my previous backruptcy?

Re: Bankruptcy Report To Lenders

Check your credit report with all three of the credit reporting agencies to make sure that your BK has been removed from your credit report. The lenders are far more interested in your present financial condition. Than in a period a decade ago in which you had some bad luck. Then when you fill out the financial documents let your conscious be your guide. My recommendation would be to tell the truth. There's always going to be another home to buy, and another lender that'll take you on. And you need to feel good about yourself. Telling the truth does that for you.
