Bankruptcy and wage garnishment

What is the law on stoping wage garnishment once you have filed with the court for bankruptcy, chapter 7?

Re: Bankruptcy and wage garnishment

Creditors are prohibited from collecting during BK. You fax (or return receipt mail) a copy of the bankruptcy notice to your employer and the sheriff's office on the wage levy notice, with a letter telling them to stop the wage levy because of your bankruptcy.
