Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Bankruptsy
I had a bankruptsy 12 years ago. My credit is now almost perfect. I own a home and make more than 100K/year. One of the creditors in the bankruptsy was American Express.
Through work, for travel purposes, I was signed up for a AMEX Corporate card. In the mail today I recieved a rejection letter and they stated they would be contacting my work about it, without reason.
Is this legal as it may jepordize my perfect standing with my employer?

Re: Bankruptsy
If it was the company that signed you up for the credit card, then the company should know your application was rejected. They need not know anything further. Your company didn't exercise diligence in investigating your background if that kind of thing is so important. You might want to have a chat with whoever's in charge of the credit card matter and explain the circumstances, and how they've changed for the better, thank goodness.
