Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Bounced checks
I am thinking of fileing chapter7 bankruptcy. I have been trying to pay all of my bills but havent realy had the funds to do so. While doing this I have had some checks returned from my bank. Would bankruptcy include this? Also, is there a minimum amount you must owe people.

Re: Bounced checks
I'm not sure what you mean by "would bankruptcy include this". In any bankruptcy you must list all your assets and all your debts. If you mean can that debt be discharged in bankruptcy, the answer is probably yes. However, writing bad checks is a crime and there can be criminal repercussions that would not be protected by bankruptcy. As for having a minimum amount that you owe, no there is no such requirement.
