Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Brankruptcy
Our house was foreclosed, and we went to court the other day and were given 10 days to move out. If we file for bankruptcy, would that buy us some more time?

Re: Brankruptcy
Probably only a few days, but nothing more. It sounds like the bank obtained an unlawful detainer against you.
You might be able to apply to the superior court for a hardship stay (delay of eviction) -- which the court could grant for a couple of weeks.
If you have other debt from which you need relief, then a bankruptcy could be helpful. Feel free to contact me if you need more information.
