Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

my car was crashed by hit and run .

I filed for chapter 7 in 2002 .

But i still kept making payments on the car cause i had no other means of transportation, and i was'nt behind on my payments, i never signed a reafermacion with the loan company. i do have insurance ..but i'm not coverd in other country.

Now i was visiting across the border and my car was hit ..by a hit and run. Crashed the driverside back door and fender and tire is bent..

Now can i still be held responsible to fix the damage .

And can i still voluntary give back the car.The way it is.

i have no money to fix it ...i would rather surrender the car. please please answer!

If you didn't sign a reaffirmation agreement, you should be able to give the car back without having to pay the remaining deficiency balance on your loan.
