Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

chapter 7 closed without bankruptcy

my bk was closed w/o discharge for not completing the iccpfm. now one of the creditors listed in my case is garnishing my wages. can they do that? and is there a time limit on re-opening to obtain a discharge if i complete the course. i acted as my own attorney

Move to reopen as quickly as possible, and then close as soon as you file the financial management course certificate. You'll have to pay nearly the full filing fee, however. Good luck!

I agree with Mr. Cohen. If you would like, I would charge you $500 plus the filing fee and the counseling fees to have the matter handled professionally.

By the way, yes, the creditor can take all actions to collect the debt until you re-open your bankruptcy.
