Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Chapter 13 dismissed and over 7 years old

I had a bankruptcy dismissed in 2002 and according to my trans union and Experian credit reports it was to be removed in Feb of 2009 today is is removed from both but Equifax is saying 10 years and will not remove are they wrong? how can I get this corrected.

Have you provided them with documentation, including court documents, orders, etc.? Since you do not say what steps you have taken, it is hard to tell you what to do next.

10 years is the correct length of time for a bankruptcy to appear on a credit report. You have three more years to wait.

All Chapter 7s and most 13s (generally ones that did not pay in full) are reported for 10 years.
