Chapter 7 - After I file can I negociate with creditors ?

I qualify for filing Chapter 7 (below poverty line income on tax returns for 3 yrs, and have 30K in debt, with 1 judgement for 25K). After I file (but before the 341 meeting) if a creditor offers to settle for less, can I stop the bankrupcy proceedings from moving forward ?

Why would you want to do that if you can get rid of the whole thing by receiving a discharge?
