Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
What happens if I use a charge card after bankruptcy
I filed Chap 7 in 1998. After I received the discharge,--name removed--creditor said I was liable for the entire amount of debt owed them because I used their card after the filing. Am I liable for all amounts incurred prior to the filing or just that which I incurred after the filing? I have been paying on the account for almost two years no but this has been bothering me ever since--it just doesn't seem right..

At most, you are liable for the amounts incurred after filing, unless you entered into a reaffirmation agreement with that creditor.
