Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

civil codes needed for research

the defendant is using Gertsch v Johnson & Johnson 237BR160(9th Cir.BAP 1999 and Smith v Lachter (in re Smith)as appeal for judgment recovery.I need to know what civil proceedures I can reseach to dispute In re Gertsch and In re Smith.The defendant is stating the bankruptcy court did not have juristiction to issue a judgment.The bankruptcy judgment stated ''the judgment is nondischargeable in accordance with 11 USC 523(a) (6). Where do I go to find information to dispute these cases? Thank you

Sounds like you need a lawyer. However, if you're just wanting to look up the cases, you can do so at a court or law school library--the librarian there can help you find the cases. Just be aware that time limits for filing answers will apply even if you don't have a lawyer, so if you're unsure how to proceed, consult with one.
