Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Default Judgement
If a default judgement is obtained in Bankruptcy Court but the abstract of judgement is not filed, is it still enforceable? This judgement is not dischargeable through bankruptcy, but is there a time frame when the judgement is no longer enforceable - 10 years - 20 years? How long can you wait before filing the abstract of judgement?

Re: Default Judgement
All an abstract of judgment does is enable one to record a judgment for lien purposes. It doesn't affect the validity of the judgment. To my knowledge, there is no time limit on obtaining an abstract.
