Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Dischargeable non-listed debtors
Chapter 7 was filed in July of 1996, a personal loan of $19,000 (made in 1995) from my father-in-law was not listed as one of our debts, I now have been informed that due to the "Beezley v. California Title Land Co." decision that eventhough this debt was non-listed, it is now wiped clean. I need to know is this is true or not, a.s.a.p., as I am in the middle of a divorce action, and a settlement depends on whether this is true or not. Our original bankruptcy attorney is the one who told me of this new decision. We do live in the Bay Area.

If your case was a No Asset case, then Beezley still applies.
