Divorced domestic violence victim stuck w/ ex's bill
Divorced, unemployed, DV victim (ex awaits sentencing)not receiving court ordered support, liable for ex's $10,000 med bill because legal separation not filed, just divorce at time of his hosp, bankruptcy an option? Medi-cal denied, he didn't appeal in time. Can't pay my own med bills from beating. No real prop

Yes, bankruptcy is a definite option to consider.

You are not liable for any debts you are excluded from on your divorce order (as part of the written order), or debts after the divorce decree is entered and filed.
