Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Our dog was attacked by our neighbor's pitbull. We sent her a letter asking for reimbursement for the vet bills. When we did not receive a response we decided to take her to small claims court. Before our court date our neighbor filed for chapter 7 bankrupcy. We cancelled our court date before the bankrupcy discharge, but she still listed us a creditor. Can we still refile & take her to court for damages?

A bankruptcy discharges most unsecured debts. A monetary obligation for your dog's injuries would fall into the dischargeable category.
