Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

I file bankruptcy 6 yrs ago 11/95. I've been told I have to wait 7 years between filing.

What are the exepmtions to this rule. I am in exteme financial hardship, I have suoght out credit counseling and they cannot help me. Can I file again? even though it has not been 7 years.

The law is 6 years, not 7 and I don't know what you mean by "exemptions". If you filed your case in November 1995, then you can file a new chapter 7 case after November, 2001 (I don't know what day in NOvember you filed your case). If you desire representation, please visit my webpage and give me a call or e-mail to schedule a time for a consultation. Regards, Mark
