Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Can I file bankruptcy twice?
I have filed bankruptcy in the past (ch.13). It was discharged in April of 1998.
Now I have a house and it has been placed in foreclosure. Can I refile bankruptcy in order to keep my house and make monthly payments on the amount that is behind?
Please let me know as soon as possible.

Re: Can I file bankruptcy twice?
There is nothing I know of prohibiting the filing of consecutive bankruptcies when the prior bankruptcy is a chapter 13. You can only receive a discharge under Chapter 7 every 6 years, but there is no such provision under Chapter 13. If you are in the Los Angeles area and desire representation, please feel free to give me a call.
