Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

hello i just filed bankrupcy in March and i had 2 car lease and i gave up one car and called the lease company to do a lease reaffirmation but told me that they don't do that and if i want to keep the car i just need to send the payments.And so i kept the car and all my debts are gone now after my bankrupcy and here i'm know my job and wife cut our hous and is getting hard to make payment on car and i'm wondering if i'll take it back to the dealer would they charge for doing that you i still have any penalties or i can just give it back and they will do nothing? please help me with this issue since my lawyer has moved and don't know where thaks for your help

Try to find your lawyer by going to the website of the California Bar. He or she must keep her current address listed there. Leases need not be reaffirmed but may be assumed after filing Chapter 7. You should have no problem returning the vehicles and not have any liability but you should really contact the attorney that represented you first before you do anything. Alternatively you should have a lawyer review the case first to see what you entered as your intention in the bankruptcy documents filed.
