Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
I filed for bankruptcy in 2003 and Bank I was listed among the creditors. I got a Wamu card a few years ago and they are now Chase. Talked to a cust. serv. rep and he let it slip that I once had a card with Bank I and I didn't realize that. He said I was one of the lucky ones. Since this was included in the bankruptcy, wasn't this a sneaky way of getting me to use the card again, and what can I do about it, if anything. Thank you, Myra Casey

I'm not sure what your question is. If you have a credit card, you're using it, and you pay it down religiously, this should improve your credit score. This is a different card, obviously, with a different credit line and account number. You always can cancel the card if you don't like the bank.
I don't see what purpose would be served by "tricking" you into using an old credit card. You either made the purchases or you didn't. You either owe them the money or you don't. Now if they are trying to collect a discharged debt, then you should call your bankruptcy attorney to see about file a motion for sanctions against the creditor.
