Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

I filed bankruptcy in 2005-2006 and yesterday received a taxes owed doc from the California tax franchise board for back taxes owed. Will my bankruptcy absolve this debt?

More information is needed before a determination of the dischargeability of taxes can be made. What time period are the back taxes for?

Taxes are sometime dischargeable in bankruptcy but must pass a 5 prong test.

Was a return filed?

Is the FTB claiming fraud?

Were the taxes filed 2 years prior to the bankruptcy?

Were the taxes due 3 years or more prior to the bankruptcy?

Was the assessment completed at least 240 days prior to the bankruptcy filing?

I am available to discuss your particular tax problem. I can be contacted at (925) 362-1725.

Thank you and good luck.
