Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

I filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy (California) and stated I wanted to reaffirm my auto loan. No contact was made by the auto lender and the attorney I had helping me didn't tell me what steps to take or even that additional steps needed to be taken to reaffirm. My debts were discharged in September 2010 and I ran my credit January 2011 and saw the auto loan was discharged as well. I didn't want this and have never missed a payment, loan is still current. What do I need to do here? If I go back to the courts, I will have to pay $250 filing fee to reopen. Is this a step I need to take or can I just contune to pay without risk they will take the car? I know they are not reporting my payments but even if it is reaffirmed do they have to report the payments?

Before anything else, I would recommend getting legal advice from your attorney whom you apparently paid to represent you.
