The reason for filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy case is to get a discharge of debts and that can only be obtained every 8 years from filing date to filing date. You can file more often but it would be a waste of time and money and get you in trouble if you are filing just to stop a foreclosure for a short time. If you need to file a bankruptcy case after getting a Chapter 7 discharge in order to save a home from foreclosure then you need to see an attorney about a Chapter 13 case.
