Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Filing for bankruptcy from another country
I'm an active duty member of the military stationed in the United Kingdom. Are there any exemptions to U.S. bankruptcy laws that would allow me to file for bankruptcy since I don't have a domicile, business or property any U.S. state?

You can file bankruptcy in the US if you have assets, a residence, or a domicile in the US. If you are in the military, you do have a US domicile. If somehow you don't, you at least probably have an asset in the US, or could. The courts would simply not refuse bankruptcy protection to a service member because of restrictive definitions of these terms. You may, however, have to appear for your meeting of creditors (although most trustees will let you do it by phone).
