Filing bankruptcy while in prison

Can my son file for bankruptcy while in prison? He will be there for three more years and should it be chapter 13 or 11?

In order to file a Chapter 13 or 11, he would have to show he has regular income (outside the prison walls). In the event he does not have regular income, he may be able to file a Chapter 7.
