Filing bankruptcy while on workers compensation

I am currently recieving work comp Ins for an injury to my right ankle. I have been on work comp for two and a half years, and will have a perment disability and therefor a settlement eventually. My wife and I seperated near the begining of this and the credit cards have not been paid for over two years and are now out of control. We are thinking of filing bankruptcy together. Will creditors alow me to file if they know I might revieve a large amount of money from settlement, and if not do you have any

suggestions on what I can do? Possibly the name of a attorney to consult with in orange county California.
