Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
I am filing charpter 7. My car is worth 18,000. Would I be able to keep the car if I had a medical condition? I have a rental home that is in short sale. If I filed bankrupty on that proptery, would I have to pay taxes on it?

You would probably be able to keep the car whether you have a medical condition or not, because you have a wildcard exemption which, along with your vehicle exemption, exceeds $25,000. The property taxes are secured by and go with the property ... your Discharge would include them.
