Financing after Bankruptcy

I am about to file bankruptcy, and have one last question before I sign my life away. Is there a waiting period between when you file bankruptcy and when you can finance agian? My car was stolen two months ago, but my credit is so bad right now that I can't finance anything. How long wil I have to wait after I calim before I can buy a car??????

Re: Financing after Bankruptcy

The answer to your question depends, of course, on the particular lender you go to. There is no "rule". Some people are able to reestablish credit rather quickly. It tends to depend more on your job status than anything else. If you file a Chapter 13, it may take longer since you will not be allowed to borrow money without court approval until after you have completed your plan.
