Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
How to find Bankruptcy Records in CA
I filed for bankruptcy in Orange County CA in 1989 and recently got a letter stating that I owed an old credit card account. My question is the Credit card is 15 yrs old on the supposed balance. I want to see if I claimed this credit card om my chapter 13 filing. How can I find this info? I cannot get a number for the attorney that handled the filing and want to get a detailed list of the accounts included.
Thank you for any help

Mr. Johnson's message got cut off. The statute of limitation is four years. If you hadn't paid for more than 4 years, they can't collect. Tell 'em you filed a BK and the debt was discharged way back when. The old BK records are kept at a warehouse in Laguna Niguel. You'll need a dust mask.
