Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Firm with judgement against me has named me as a creditor in their bankruptcy(?)

A roofing company that obtained a judgement against me and a subsequent lien on my property has filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.

Curiously, their attorney just sent a copy of an amended schedule F, naming me as a creditor holding an unsecured nonpriority claim in the sum of $1000 (''disputed'' is mentioned).

Does this mean the court may award me the aforementioned sum? Our original dispute arose from less than satisfactory work by the firm, I wonder why they listed me as a creditor?

Thank you for your assistance.

It means that if there are assets available and there are excess funds available after payment to all higher priority creditors, you might receive some portion of the $1,000 IF they don't object to your claim. However, since it is listed as disputed, there's a good chance that the Trustee would object to it if and when they get to that point, but you're looking at at least 2-3 years down the road for that.

The attorney filing a sizeable BK made a mistake.
