Franchise Tax Board and filing bankruptcy

Will filing a Chapter 7 keep the Franchise Tax Board from attaching wages or assets in payment of penalties from one year's unpaid state income tax?

Franchise Tax Board and BK

It may temporarily stop the wage garnishment, but unless the tax is dischargeable (for example if it is over 3 years old) you will still be obligated to pay it and will need to work out payments arrangements with the FTB.
