Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Internal Revenue Service not acknowledging even though listed as creditor

Filed for bankruptcy approx. 5 years ago. Listed the IRS as a creditor. We are still being harrased for taxes from years previous to filing. What can/should we do to get the Internal Revenue Service to acknowledge the court order? Do we need to hire a lawer and go back into court or is there a less costly solution?

What court order is it that you think the IRS should be acknowledging? Were the taxes discharged in your bankruptcy? They would have to have been at least 3 years old on the date you filed your bankruptcy, at a minimum, to qualify to be discharged. I'm sure your attorney explained that to you, but you may wish to give him/her a call to explain it further. If in fact the taxes were discharged, you can file a Complaint for Contempt against the IRS.
