Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Judgement - credit bills
I recently filed bankruptcy but of one the collection agency sued me. Is there a way to get this reverse? I thought bankruptcy Law removes such judgements. Please advise.

If the debt was incurred before the bankruptcy, then any collection efforts -- including civil court proceedings -- are stayed. Send the lawyer for the creditor and the court a Notice of Stay of Proceedings, attaching your notice of bankruptcy and a proof of service. http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/forms/fillable/cm180.pdf . Good luck.
