Judgement elimination by bankruptsy
i was found liable in a wrongful death civil trial in the early 90's.To the tune of 10 million plus or minus.the judgement went for 10 years and was renewed for another 10 years. I am into 3 years on the remaining 10. I have paid $845.00 per month in a side agreement with the oppositions lawyers and a receiver.I am now 67 and on social security with no property. I have an income from a small E merchant business but the sales are dropping and my TV service business is defunct. Can I file for bankrupsy ? If so what kind?

Re: Judgment elimination by bankruptcy
If the accident occurred as a result of negligence as opposed to your intoxication from alcohol or drugs, and was not intentional, you more than likely can discharge the debt in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. However, whether you qualify depends on your financial circumstances which you should review by formally consulting with an attorney. Re: Judgment elimination by bankruptcy
The debt would likely be dischargeable unless it was a result of driving while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs. You should review all the facts with an attorney before filing, though, to ensure you qualify and are not putting any assets at risk.
