Re: How long is the process
It depends on what chapter you file. Chapter 7 is about 3-4 months from the date you file. Chapter 13 is 3-5 years and CH. 11 is somewhere from 1-10 years.
Re: How long is the process
A Chapter 7 is almost instantanious. When you file there is an 'automatic stay' in place, and creditors can no longer bother you. You then have one short meeting with the Chapter 7 Trustee (341a Hearing) a month later. And for the vast majority of cases it is over. Something like six months later you'll get an official notice that your debts have been discharged. The 'automatic stay' is in place until your debts are discharged.

Depends on your situation and the case. Usually I can have people filed in a day, a hearing takes about 30 days and a discharge 60 to 90 days after that. However there can be issues and complications. Please feel free to call me to discuss your individual situation 310-205-3400 or 800-696-4529.
