When someone's home is worth less than the balance owed on the first mortgage, it is possible to strip the second mortgage in a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. You should contact a local bankruptcy attorney for more information, preferably a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
