Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Help needed

I have several credit card debts that are in collection. My main problem is that I have also had 2 repos that have gone through the law system and have resulted in a levy being placed on my wife and my bank accounts. Will payroll garnishments for my wife be something that we should expect next? I as of the 29th of December have lost my job, so this is something that we will need to really have to do. Will the levy be cleared up if we do this? PLEASE help!
