Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
owed child support and chapter 7
I'm in the beginning stages of filing chapter 7...doing paperwork. My wife is owed over 10k in back child support and the amount grows each month. I'll be acknowledging this on the paper work.
My question is: will we loose what is owed? The DA has been unable to collect and we do get a check periodically and it is helpful when we get it.

you need to exempt it under the applicable code sections.
