Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
I am in the process of filing a chapter 7, is my student loan payment
an allowable expense, considering I can't discharge it and my wages
can be garnished if I dont pay?
*It is a federal backed student loan.

What do you mean "you are in the process" of filing a Chapter 7? Your student loan is nondischargeable and your wages will be garnished again as soon as the rest of your debts are discharged. Try a Chapter 13. And use an attorney.
