Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Property Claimed as Exempt in a Chapter 7 Filing
On ''Schedule C'' of the Bankruptcy Forms (Property
Claimed as Exempt) I am unclear which box to check.
(E.g. Am I entitled to exemptions under 11 U.S.C.
Section 522 (b) (1) (Exemptions provided in 522 (d)) or,
exemptions provided under 11 U.S.C. Section 522 (b)
(2)? For California, which is appropriate?
( I am a renter with limited personal property and no
car).
Thank you very much.

If you're a California debtor, you will want to use (b)(2), and then the California Code of Civil Procedure 703.140 series of exemptions.
