Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
I recently filed a Chpt 7 bankruptcy, and my debts are set on the calendar for 2/22/11 to be discharged. I have been receiving credit card applications in the mail regularly now. I wanted to have one for emergency only purposes. Is there any risk to my discharge if I apply and receive a new credit card prior to my discharge date?

Did you take the financial management course? It's best that, if you need a credit card, to have a secured one that is backed by your own money, or use a debit card for small purchases. The solicitations you are receiving probably bear extremely high interest rates. It's only a few weeks. Why not wait a little while, anyway, so as not to muddy the waters?
