Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Responsibility
I traded-in a vehicle for which I had purchased an extended warranty in the amt of $1595. I was told by the dealer that the warranty co. had gone bankrupt. If they had not gone bankrupt I would have received a refund for $800. Is the dealer responsible to refund this money to me? Additionally, I was never notified about the warranty co. going bankrupt.

Re: Responsibility
Often, the warranty companies are only the guarantors, and the dealer is the one responsible for making good on the repairs. Have an attorney review your agreement to determine who actually is responsible for the repairs.
