Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
have been separated for 20 yrs am now filing for divorce in ca with a separation date of 1992 . if i file for bankruptcy after divorce can exspouse be liable for my debt. no bills are in her name

If all the debt was incurred after your separation, 1992, and your soon to be ex was not a co-debtor on any of the accounts, then she would not be liable.
If, however, she is a co-debtor on any account, then the creditor may pursue her for the full amount.
