Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Specific Forms?
I am now about to file for bankruptcy and wish to file without an attorney. The forms offered on LawGuru.com are about half the price of all the others I've found through online providers and in stationery stores, but on the other hand all of the other providers specify specific forms for specific districts of California (where I reside and will be filing). Can you tell me why, or even if, I need specific forms and are the forms offered on LawGuru sufficient and all I need?

Re: Specific Forms?
Believe it or not, I have not looked at the forms offered on LawGuru, so I don't know if they're complete. If you go to the web site for the bankruptcy court in the district in which you plan to file, you can find the forms necessary for filing. I know that the Central District (LA, Riverside, Santa Ana, Woodland Hills) requires a specific statement of past cases that other districts might not require. You can also get from the district's web site the documents you absolutely need. I would not recommend doing a BK without a lawyer, though, especially if you have assets to protect.
