Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
suing someone for bad check
Someone gave me a bad check and its been 3 mos. I asked for the money many times and advise I might take the case to a small claim court and she's told me she is in the process of bankruptcy, is there anything I can do to get my money back.

You can challenge her discharge in the bankruptcy if she intentionally caused you harm. Otherwise, you can go to small claims court, get a judgment, and see if she actually files for bankruptcy. If not, then you can attempt to collect.
