Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Time table on judgement

How long does the bankruptcy process take and when and how does a judgement get discharged. My daughter can't get her driver's license back because of a judgement against her from an insurance company. They don't seem to want to work out a payment plan and they won't allow her to get her license back until she pays in full.

Over the last 2 years, every single Chapter 7 case I have handles took about 3/5 months before the discharge was entered. Chapter 13 cases are repayment plans that generally last 3-5 years.

Your daughter needs to consult with a local bankruptcy attorney to see if bankruptcy is truly an option for her. Filing bankruptcy can be very complex and it isn't for everybody.
