Re: traffic violations

You are required to list all your debts and all your assets in any bankruptcy. I believe what you meant to ask was whether it would be dischargeable in bankruptcy. Assuming this is a routine traffic ticket, the answer is "no" in a Chapter 7, and "possibly" in Ch. 13. It depends on whether it is determined to be a fine resulting from a criminal conviction. I would need to research whether that is the case, after getting more details of your specific situation.

Re: traffic violations

Thank you for your posting. As Mr. Markus explained, you must "list" all debts on your petition, and your answer interpreted as "can I discharge this ticket in bankruptcy", depends on whether or not it can be considered "a court ordered criminal fine". That, in turn, depends on what it was for, and what findings the court made, if any.

If you would like, please feel free to email me with any questions, and I can go into more detail.
