Unemployment and Chapter `13
What do I do, and what happens if I am layed off during my chapter 13? I have made 6 payments to the trustee and would like to continue to make them. Do I need to inform the trustte of a layoff?

The answer depends on whether you can continue to make your plan payments while you're unemployed. Usually, that is not possible. You need to have your attorney file a motion to suspend plan payments or do a motion to modify your plan. A lot depends on if and when you find a new job. You may have to dismiss your case or convert to chapter 7.
