Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
My ex and I had a vehicle jointly and it was repossessed two years ago without my knowledge - he was driving it and living in another state. He filed for bankruptcy a couple years ago also. The car shows up on my credit report, but says "discharged through bankruptcy." How can I get the bank to send me a letter saying the debt is satisfied? Am I still liable for the loan amount, even if it is discharged through his bankruptcy? He filed after our divorce was finalized.
