How do you know if your creditors are going to try to garnish your wages?

Before a creditor can garnish your wages, it must first serve you with a Summons (sue you) and obtain a Judgment against you. Then it must obtain an Earnings Withholding Order from the Court and serve your employer.
That's how you know.
Filing a bankruptcy stops that process and discharges the debt, even if the Judgment has already been obtained.
