Walking away from my debts

Can I walk away from my debts when my TN visa expires and just return to Canada.

First, as I understand it, bankruptcy is not as complete in Canada as it is in California.

Second, if you owe a creditor a substantial amount of money, it's likely to follow you back home to Canada and engage the provincial judicial system to collect.
